The Bespoke Process

1. Meeting (In person or telephone/video)
Our initial consultation normally lasts around an hour. We love to see our clients in the shop with all our tools and measuring apparatus but also enjoy a video chat too. 
We talk our clients through lots of options such as metal types, gemstone options, settings and budgets.
We will do some drawings, and fill out a jobsheet with your details so we can send you a mood board of ideas and more exact costings following this initial consultation.
 
2.  Sourcing Gemstones And Diamonds
We have many suppliers we know and trust to send us a selection of gemstones or diamonds for your approval.
We use ethical sources but due to our connections can source some unusual quirky stones or salt and pepper diamonds.
We use 3D CAD design software to redesign using our sketches and your chosen gemstones. This allows you to view the item at many different angles and also the dimensions.
We can also print a 3D Resin model using a state of the art 3D printer. This way you can try on your bespoke design and really feel part of the design process.
3. Making Your Design 
 
Once you’ve approved the design and are happy with the cost we ask for a 40% deposit. We then start the manufacturing process.
We have a jewellery workshop in Jenny Blossom but most of the casting and stone setting takes place in Wiliam Street Edinburgh. This is also the home of Jewellery by Liam Ross. Liam Ross is Jenny's husband. We love that none of our jewellery goes in the post. It is transferred by Jenny or Liam themselves via car from one safe to the other. We know and underrstand how precious your heirlooms are and want you to feel reassured they are in our safe hands.
When your jewellery is finished we will invite you in to try on and we can make any final tweaks at this stage if required.
 
4. Collection
All of our bespoke pieces come with a complimentary ring re-size, clean and polish. Our engagement ring customers have the benefit of discounts on their wedding rings and future jewellery purchases.
When your ring is ready to collect it will be in a branded Jenny Blossom box. With it is a envelope which includes your valuation for insurance purposes. The folder also contains a copy of your sketches or mockups and CAD images.
We can dispatch your ring by insured and tracked post, we ship using Royal Mail in the UK fully insured and can ship internationally too. 
We use modern jewellery techniques to create our designs and specialise in CAD and 3D printed designs. 
How long does it take? 
The whole process takes between 3 -10 weeks depending on complexity of design. from confirmation to jewellery completion. We never want to rush our clients through the design stages. A realistic timescale is 4-6 weeks.
